 
        
        The Opportunity 
We are seeking a HF Radio Operator - Mission Operation Specialist to join the Defence High Frequency Communications System (DHFCS) team. The DHFCS is a world leading High Frequency Communications Network operated on behalf of the ADF in support of Military Strategic Communications elements both home and abroad. Our Radio Operators drive the DHFCS and supporting communications systems, working alongside our ADF counterparts within the Defence Strategic Communications Branch based in Harman & Russell, Canberra ACT. 
As a part of our team, we will provide you full training in the role, and all you need to be a successful team member. 
Security Clearance 
You will be required to successfully undergo the vetting process for a Government security clearance (NV2) sponsored by BDA. Therefore, you must be willing to disclose all relevant and required information and must have the ability to verify your background for whole of life i.e. birth to present time. More information on the security clearance vetting process is available on the Australian Government Security Vetting Agency (AGSVA) website.
**Responsibilities**:
- Operate and engineer communications links. 
- Provide Defence customers with situational awareness and updates on system and unit status. 
- Learn & follow Defence doctrine and operating procedures to maintaining security. 
- Successful applicants will be required to perform shiftwork, consisting of both day and night shifts on a regular roster pattern.
Experience/Qualifications 
- A clear communication style, and an ability to understand customer service. 
- Experience as a Communications Operator on Radio systems, or in a similar field is preferred.
