YOUR NEW ROLE

This position provides senior-level event account management services to all hirers at Sydney Opera House and supports the Head of Department in managing the Account Management team and its workload.

The Deputy Head of Account Management assists the Head of Account Management in ensuring the team delivers exceptional customer service to hirers and stakeholders. It fosters strong, collaborative relationships to ensure requirements are clearly understood and executed in line with the Opera House's artistic vision and strategic goals. Responsibilities include managing event allocations and team workloads, contributing to strategic event planning, providing high-level event support, and overseeing the wellbeing and professional development of the team's Coordinators.

ARE YOU THE ONE?

Key Responsibilities/skills:

* Extensive experience in event and/or theatre management, with a proven ability to deliver complex events in high-pressure, fast-paced environments.
* Strong leadership capability, including supervising, mentoring and developing staff to drive performance, wellbeing and team effectiveness.
* Demonstrated financial and contractual management expertise, including budgeting, cost control and compliance with procurement requirements.
* Advanced communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to manage diverse stakeholders and resolve competing priorities effectively.
* Proven project management skills, with the capacity to plan, prioritise and deliver multiple concurrent events using relevant systems and tools.
* Sound judgement and decision-making ability, with experience operating autonomously while managing risk and escalating critical issues appropriately.

How did you balance customer advocacy with organisational objectives, manage stakeholder relationships and communication, and ensure contractual and operational compliance to deliver successful outcomes?
