Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Battery Energy Storage Systems Fire Safety Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe design and operation of utility-scale BESS installations.
Main Responsibilities:
* Review UL 9540A reports from cell to unit/installation level and provide technical direction.
* Analyze, approve and offer guidance towards fire safety system designs of BESS manufacturers and projects.
* Oversee safety analyses for project level reports, including hazard mitigation analysis, failure mode and effects analysis, heat flux analysis, and computational fluid dynamics simulations.
* Establish relationships with national, state and local authorities having jurisdiction.
About the Role:
This position requires a strong understanding of fire safety principles, risk assessment methods and relevant codes and standards. You will contribute to the advancement of industry codes and standards pertaining to battery energy storage systems.
