The Role
The primary function of this position is to make precision tools, such as jigs, moulds and dies which are then used in the manufacturing process to make products. Monitor all tools and identify and implement any necessary modifications and repairs using CNC machines.
Duties include but not limited to:
• Assembling fitting and repairing Tools and monitor for possible improvements
• Following engineering drawings to measure and mark out the design for the tool
• Build new tools
• Using Machinery such as lathes, presses, CNC milling machines and grinders to cut and shape the tool
• Use 2D and 3D computer aided design and manufacture software (CAD/CAM) Mastercam
• Use Precision measurement instruments such as micrometers, gauges and vernier callipers to check tool dimensions
• Attend to Machine breakdowns and identify the root cause and rectify
What you need
In order to be successful in this role, you must have previous experience as a toolmaker that has used CNC machines and CAD/CAM Mastercam software.
You will also be able to:
• Ensure Housekeeping standards are maintained through effective management and identify areas for improvement
• Ensure 5S standards are implemented, maintained, and continuously improved.
• Identify and recommend opportunities for Continuous improvement
• Understand and comply with the company’s HACCP certification requirements, GMP, Quality, OH&S and relevant industry codes, and practices.
• Attend training programs including Lean, 5S, Visual Management as requested or other programs that may be recommended in the future
