The Role
The Estimator/Supervisor plays a critical role in estimating & overseeing and coordinating building and construction projects across Insurance, QBCC, NDIS, Restoration. This position ensures projects are estimated accurately and delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards of quality and client satisfaction, whilst supporting and mentoring staff and trades teams.
Job Description:
Estimate and submit 20 claims per week within KPI
Prepare detailed, accurate, and timely cost estimates for insurance building and restoration projects.
Assess damage reports, site notes, and insurer specifications to develop comprehensive scopes of work.
Attend and conduct site inspections to validate scope of works.
Liaise with supervisors, project managers, and trades to gather accurate information for costings.
Communicate effectively with loss adjusters, insurance companies, and property owners.
Manage the end-to-end repair experience for all jobs in your portfolio.
Manage the end-to-end delivery of Government and Private Sector Works.
Work across all project quanta as required by the business.
Ensure quality construction standards and the use of proper construction techniques.
Review the project to schedule deliverables and estimate costs to ensure profitable margin.
Plan to prevent problems and resolve any emerging ones whilst ensuring timely delivery of repairs in accordance with expected outcomes for our clients.
Prioritise workloads and work in a systematic and organised manner to cope with tight deadlines.
Deliver first-class customer service.
Adhere to company SLA's & KPI's.
Grow and maintain client relationships in the major and complex loss market.
Analyse, manage, and mitigate risks ensuring all OHS requirements are met.
Contribute to and comply with all statutory legislation including relevant Health and Safety policies and procedures applicable to Bentino.
Establish and manage any major and complex loss construction projects from conception to completion.
Prepare internal and external reports pertaining to job status.
Negotiate terms of agreements, draft contracts and obtain permits and licenses.
Assist with new starter training if necessary.
Attend weekly team meetings.
Prepare SWMS and Site Safety Plans for all jobs.
Carry out project inductions, Toolbox talks, and team meetings.
About You:
Trade Qualified
QBCC Supervisor Licence (preferred)
White Card
Current Police Check
High level of client care and communication.
Full and valid Driver's Licence
Excellent communication skills
Able to produce consistently high-quality workmanship/Deliverables
Self-Motivated to work autonomously and as part of team
Confident reliance by managers that the employee is meeting all deadlines, productivity levels and expected standards of output.
Demonstrate ability to work without supervision on projects
Maintain a strong and positive attitude towards the Employer's business
Follow documented procedures to ensure the legal, environmental and safety compliance of the business
Good computer skills.
Prime and Microsoft Office knowledge (training can be provided)
High level of organisational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and used to working to deadlines.
At least 3-5 years of experience in the insurance industry, with a focus on construction insurance.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
Self-motivated to work autonomously and as part of a team.
Able to work well with others.
Be thorough and pay attention to detail.
