* Championing safety management plans and procedures;
* Effectively communicating with other departments;
* Leading and developing the production crew;
* Ensuring production targets are met;
* Conducting toolbox talks and shift prestart talks;
* Conducting statutory inspections of an open cut operation.
Duties may also include:
* Safety auditing and reporting;
* Coordinating maintenance and repairs;
* Assisting in training and development programs.
