Located in South Bowenfels, the Lithgow Campus is considered as a comprehensive community health centre supporting approximately 20,000 people living in the town and surrounding areas. The services available in Lithgow hospital include Domiciliary care unit, Emergency department, Geriatric assessment unit, Obstetric services, Paediatric service, Drug and Alcohol unit.
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Registered Nurse to help ensure optimal outcomes for patients, clients, and carers by promoting best practice and the appropriate escalation of care. In this role, you will work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary health team, contributing to the planning, implementation, assessment, and evaluation of patient care.
As an advocate for all patients and carers, including those from Indigenous and multicultural backgrounds, you will provide culturally sensitive and appropriate care, particularly for individuals undergoing specialised procedures. Your commitment to professional standards will be evident through ethical nursing practice, adherence to Nursing and Midwifery Service policies, NBMLHD guidelines, and compliance with relevant legislation and statutory regulations. You will also play a vital role in supporting and mentoring staff and students, fostering a positive learning environment while effectively managing resources to meet service needs.

What you will bring to the role
- Current registration to practice as a Registered Nurse (Division 1) with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Authority (AHPRA)
- Demonstrated experience and clinical skill in general nursing
- Demonstrated ability to organise and prioritise work
- Demonstrated evidence of being able to provide person centred care
- Demonstrated effective communication skills – written and verbal
- Demonstrated commitment to professional development
- Ability to work a flexible roster, day, evening or night shift across all days of the week according to the unit/service requirements
- Ability to work a minimum of 2 - 3 shifts per fortnight
