About the role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Associate to joinour well-regarded Government Advisory team. Working alongsidePartners Mark Henry and Angela Barac, this role will work within ateam of high performing lawyers in undertaking merits review for aCommonwealth Government agency.
This is a unique opportunity to join a collaborative team andassist in the supervision of a high performing practice. Day to dayyou will have the following responsibilities:
* Finalising litigation strategies and statements ofissues
* Conducting directions hearings and case conferences
* Managing substantive hearings
* Solicitor advocacy at hearings and finalising briefs toCounsel
* Undertaking complex statutory interpretation
About you
In order to be considered for this role, you will have thefollowing skills and experience:
* At least 5+ years post qualification experience, ideallywith experience in government advisory work andlitigation.
* Strong solicitor advocacy experience and expertise.
* Experience mentoring team members with excellentcommunication skills and a collegiate approach.
* You may have a background of working in government and bekeen to make your first move into a law firm. Alternatively,you will be doing similar work in another firm and looking fora new opportunity.
