The Transition to Speciality Practice – Oncology position is based at Armidale Rural Referral Hospital, within the Oncology Day Unit. This is a busy 8-chair, 1-bed unit providing treatment for adults with oncological and haematological diagnoses from Armidale and surrounding communities.
What does the position involve?
- Participate in supernumerary time with the Oncology Clinical Nurse Educator.
- Gain exposure to care coordination and palliative care.
- Complete the Anti-cancer Drug Administration Course and related clinical competencies.
- Attend dedicated education days that support completion of a Graduate Certificate in Cancer Nursing.
What We’re Looking For
- Current registration with AHPRA.
- Completion of a Transition Recent Graduate Program or equivalent in an acute care hospital.
- A commitment to lifelong learning, collaboration, and delivering holistic, person-centred care.
How You’ll Be Supported
- Oncology-specific educators, including CNEs, CNCs, and a Nurse Practitioner, for guidance and clinical teaching.
- A structured orientation program tailored to oncology practice.
- Ongoing education and professional development, including training required for HNELHD roles.
- Mentorship and exposure to advanced nursing roles, providing a clear pathway for your future career development.
