Our client is looking for an experienced Fabrication Workshop Manager required for workshop in Redcliffe.
**Our Client**:
Specializes in the manufacturing and construction of Portable Aluminum Safety access platforms for a broad range of mining, mining and aviation clientele.
**The Role**:
- Ensure the Fabrication team has all the required information including fabrication drawings, job sheets, quality control documentation, and any other job specific information.
- Review the drawings before handover to the Fabricators
- Provide coaching and mentorship to the Fabrication team in fabrication and welding techniques.
- Must be able to identify when incorrect welding techniques are being used and willing to get on the tools when required.
- Ensure Fabrication employees maintain a safe workplace and ensure all OH&S practices are followed.
- Ensure stock control of raw materials and consumables.
- Developing and implementing new processes, systems, procedures and documentation to improve and uplift the group's capability and quality service to clients
- Able to work with the design team to develop new and upgrade existing designs of products offered.
- Work with the Procurement team to ensure the ordering and delivery of materials, so that the team are not held up during the project construction stage.
- Planning and maintaining a work schedule of upcoming works and projects.
- Ensuring the delivery of projects in full on time and within budget
- Ensure completion of all the QC documentation.
- Working with and managing sub contractors and suppliers as and when needed.
- Ensuring there is a structured and organized work environment through various tools, such as prestart meetings, toolbox talks, available schedules, etc.
- Driving a positive and inclusive work culture and environment for the whole team.
- Mentoring and guiding the Apprentices to meet and exceed their training requirements.
- Maintain a friendly and approachable work ethic
**Requirements**:
- Trade qualified in Boiler making or Metal Fabrication
- Workshop Leadership Cert IV (desirable)
- Strong organizational skills and time management
- Must be able to maintain composure and work well under pressure
- Be fully computer literate
- 3 to 5 years of supervisory experience (Ideally in a similar field) with a team size of 8 or more
- Experience in implementing and maintaining QC documentation and procedures
- Experience in LEAN manufacturing (Desirable)
