We are looking for a Part-time Grounds and Gardens Officer to join Tranby College!
This role would suit an early bird with the hours of operation being Weekdays (6.30am - 1.00pm), with potential for additional hours including weekends.
The Role:
The Grounds and Gardens Officer contributes to the smooth operation and presentation of the College by maintaining its grounds & gardens to a high standard. This role supports the day-to-day maintenance needs of the campus and ensures the environment remains safe, attractive, and functional for students, staff, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist with the upkeep, cleanliness, and presentation of College grounds, gardens, and outdoor areas.
* Support landscaping, irrigation, and gardening projects as required.
* Monitor and report any maintenance or safety issues to the Maintenance Supervisor.
* Operate tools, machinery, and vehicles safely and in accordance with College policies.
* Ensure all work areas are kept tidy and safe during and after completion of tasks.
* Assist with event setup, furniture movement, and other operational tasks as directed.
* Contribute to a positive team culture and uphold the values and ethos of Tranby College.
The Ideal Candidate Will:
* Enjoy working outdoors and be comfortable in varying weather conditions.
* Be physically fit and capable of performing manual tasks, including lifting, digging, and landscaping.
* Have experience or aptitude in groundskeeping, gardening, or general maintenance work.
* Demonstrate strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high presentation standards.
* Be reliable, punctual, and self-motivated with a positive attitude.
* Have good communication and teamwork skills.
* Hold a current driver’s licence.
* Possess (or be willing to obtain) a current Working with Children Check.
* Certificate III in Horticulture
