Kempe Engineering, a trusted provider of engineering, fabrication, machining, hydraulics and site services is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead projects locally in George Town and across Tasmania.
About the Role
We are looking for a results-driven Project Manager with the ability to deliver both small and major projects safely, on time and within budget. The role involves close collaboration with clients, suppliers, subcontractors and in-house teams to ensure successful project outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and deliver local and statewide projects, ranging from small works to major installations and maintenance shutdowns.
- Oversee all project phases, including planning, execution, monitoring and handover.
- Develop and manage project schedules, budgets and resourcing plans.
- Conduct site visits and liaise with clients to define scope and manage expectations.
- Lead site teams, subcontractors and suppliers to ensure safe and high-quality delivery.
- Prepare and submit project reports, progress updates and compliance documentation.
- Drive a culture of safety, quality and continuous improvement across all projects.
Skills & Experience
- Proven experience managing projects in engineering, fabrication, machining, hydraulics or industrial services.
- Strong leadership and people management skills.
- Excellent client-facing communication and negotiation abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously across different sites.
- Solid understanding of contracts, budgets, scheduling and reporting.
- Knowledge of safety, QA/QC, and compliance requirements in industrial environments.
- Flexibility to travel across Tasmania as required.
