About us
The Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (RACS) is the leading advocate for surgical standards, professionalism and surgical education in Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand. The College is a not-for-profit organisation that represents more than 8600 surgeons and 1300 surgical trainees and Specialist International Medical Graduates.

RACS also supports healthcare and surgical education in the Asia-Pacific region and is a substantial funder of surgical research. There are nine surgical specialties in Australasia being: Cardiothoracic Surgery, General Surgery, Neurosurgery, Orthopaedic Surgery, Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery, Paediatric Surgery, Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Urology and Vascular Surgery.

About the role

You will support the College's day-to-day operations and provide exceptional service to our Fellows, faculty, and staff. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth running of our internal and external events, with a focus on excellent customer service and high standards of facilities management.

Primary Responsibilities include:

- Opening & Security: Ensure the College buildings are securely opened at the start of the day and locked at the end.
- Event Support: Set up, serve, and clear catering for internal and external meetings, ensuring client satisfaction.
- Technical Support: Check and maintain the functionality of Audio-Visual equipment, assisting with troubleshooting when needed.
- Meeting Setup & Support: Assist with the preparation of meeting spaces and support the smooth running of meetings.
- Client Liaison: Meet and greet clients, ensuring their needs are met and that they are directed appropriately.
- General Facilities Maintenance: Perform general cleaning duties, including bathrooms, and assist with deliveries.
- Collaboration: Work closely with Facilities Staff to provide high-quality service to all internal and external clients.

Skills and Experience

- RSA and Food Safety Certificate
- High level of technical proficiency with Audio-Visual equipment
- Strong computer literacy, especially in Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
- Attention to detail with a strong sense of responsibility
