The Role
Location: National Role based in Wooloongabba with regular interstate travel
We are seeking an experienced National Roofing Manager to lead, standardise, and grow our commercial roofing and roofing remedial operations across multiple regions. This senior leadership role is responsible for technical oversight, operational performance, safety, quality, and profitability of all roofing-related works, with a strong focus on remedial roofing, waterproofing, and working-at-heights environments.
The role will work closely with Directors, Construction Managers, Project Managers, and regional site teams to ensure consistent delivery, best-practice systems, and scalable growth across the business.

Key Responsibilities
National Leadership & Strategy
* Lead the national roofing division across multiple states or regions
* Develop and implement national roofing strategies, standards, and best practices
* Drive consistent systems, methodologies, and quality outcomes across all roofing projects
* Support business growth through technical input on tenders, methodologies, and pricing
* Identify opportunities for innovation, efficiency, and margin improvement
Operational Management
* Oversee the delivery of commercial roofing and remedial projects nationally
* Provide technical leadership and problem-solving support to regional teams
* Ensure effective programming, resourcing, and sequencing of roofing works
* Support Construction Managers and Project Managers with complex or high-risk projects
* Monitor productivity, performance, and project outcomes across regions
Safety & Compliance
* Champion a strong safety-first culture, particularly in working at heights and roofing operations
* Ensure compliance with WHS legislation, codes of practice, and company safety systems
* Review and approve roofing-specific SWMS, access methodologies, and lift plans
* Ensure consistent use of fall prevention, fall arrest, and height safety systems
* Lead incident investigations, corrective actions, and continuous safety improvement initiatives
Technical & Quality Oversight
* Act as the subject matter expert for commercial roofing systems and remedial solutions
* Provide technical guidance on roofing materials, systems, and installation methodologies
* Ensure works comply with Australian Standards, manufacturer requirements, and project specifications
* Oversee inspections, testing, certifications, and handover documentation
* Lead defect identification, root cause analysis, and rectification strategies
Commercial & Financial Management
* Work with senior management to manage budgets, forecasts, and profitability of the roofing division
* Review and contribute to tender pricing, subcontractor rates, and procurement strategies
* Monitor costs, margins, and variations across roofing projects
* Assist with contract negotiations, claims, and dispute resolution as required
Stakeholder & Client Management
* Act as a senior technical and operational point of contact for clients, consultants, and suppliers
* Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and manufacturers
* Represent the business in client meetings, site inspections, and industry forums

Requirements
Essential
* Minimum 10+ years' experience in commercial roofing, with strong exposure to remedial and replacement works
* Proven experience in a senior management or national/state leadership role
* Extensive experience managing working-at-heights environments
* Strong technical knowledge of commercial roofing systems (metal, membrane, waterproofing)
* Demonstrated ability to lead multi-site, multi-region teams
* Strong commercial acumen and understanding of project financials
* Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
Desirable
* Trade qualification in Roofing, Plumbing, Carpentry, or similar
* Tertiary qualification in Construction Management or Engineering
* Experience working in live environments and occupied buildings
* Strong supplier and manufacturer relationship experience
Qualifications & Certifications
* White Card (Construction Induction)
* Working at Heights certification
* Relevant trade qualification or construction management degree (preferred)
* First Aid (preferred)
* High Risk Work Licences (Scaffolding, EWP, etc. – desirable)
