Job Summary
Reporting to the Bursar, the Student Accounts Specialist position in the Account Management Department at Florida Tech provides customer service and support for activities related to processing and reconciling student financial accounts. The Student Accounts Specialist interacts on a regular basis with the students, their parents, and staff; and uses the department's various payment programs as tools to offer options to students and their families. Job duties include administering payment programs such as the Panther Payment Plan and the Corporate Deferment Program, supporting the team during crucial times at the beginning of each semester, providing estimates when requested, and coordinating with students or other departments when attention is needed on a student's account.
Job Responsibilities
1. Assist with the Canvas Suspension Process and Banner course cancellation and re-registration process each semester.
2. Coordinate with other departments when corrections are necessary on student accounts, including processing forms in the department's DocuSign account regarding withdrawals and registrations.
3. Monitor the department's e-mail inbox and assist with daily walk-ins.
4. Administer the Panther Payment Plan and help students stay in good standing.
5. Administer the Corporate Deferment Program and keep it in good standing.
6. Administer Deferred Payment Authorizations when applicable.
7. Analyze and audit student accounts to explain balances, holds, and transactions.
8. Coordinate with Bisk AR Department for assistance with holds, change of major requests, applying exceptions to refunds, and account balance discrepancies.
9. Participate in regular one-on-one meetings with management.
10. Other duties as assigned.

15. Excellent and effective customer service, organizational, communication (written and oral), and interpersonal skills, assisting students and others with patience and courtesy. Must be able to form relationships with individuals from diverse backgrounds.

17. Ability to handle and process confidential and sensitive student financial information with discretion
18. Excellent computer skills and ability to quickly learn new programs
Education
19. Associate degree required
20. Bachelor’s degree preferred
Experience
21. 2 – 5 years of relevant experience
22. Strong customer service skills
23. Extensive data entry and analysis experience
24. Effective computer file management skills
25. Strong proofreading
26. Experience preferred with ERP Systems Banner and Workday
27. Experience preferred with Canvas and Slate
28. Microsoft Office and DocuSign proficiency required

Annual Security & Fire Safety Report
The federal Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act (Clery Act) requires colleges and universities, both public and private, participating in federal student aid programs to disclose campus safety information, and imposes certain basic requirements for handling incidents of sexual violence and emergency situations.
Florida Tech’s 2023 Annual Security and Fire Safety Report includes statistics for the previous three years concerning reported crimes that occurred on campus; in certain off-campus buildings or property owned or controlled by Florida Tech; and on public properly within, or immediately adjacent to and accessible from, the campus.
The numbers provided include crime statistics that were reported to local law enforcement agencies, campus security and other Campus Security Authorities.
The report also includes institutional policy statements regarding campus safety and security measures; descriptions of prevention and awareness programs; related university procedures and important guidance; and other essential safety information.

Official Transcripts
