About the role
Derek Steens Auto Care Repco Service is seeking an experienced Light Vehicle Mechanic to join our team in Castlemaine, VIC. This full-time position is responsible for performing a wide range of automotive repair and maintenance services on passenger vehicles. As an integral member of our service team, you will play a key role in ensuring our customers' vehicles are well-maintained and running safely.
What you'll be doing
1. Conduct thorough inspections and diagnose vehicle issues
2. Perform a variety of repairs and maintenance tasks, including engine work, brake servicing, suspension repairs, and electrical diagnostics
3. Test drive vehicles to verify repairs and ensure customer satisfaction
4. Maintain detailed records of all work performed
5. Provide excellent customer service and communicate effectively with customers
6. Adhere to all safety protocols and workshop procedures
What we're looking for
1. Formal qualifications in automotive mechanics or a related field
2. Minimum 3 years' experience as a Light Vehicle Mechanic, preferably in a workshop environment
3. Comprehensive knowledge of automotive systems and repair procedures
4. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
5. Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality work
6. Effective communication skills to liaise with customers
7. Ability to work collaboratively within a team
