**The Role**
We have an exciting opportunity to join our amazing team in Richlands, QLD. The role of Microbiologist is responsible for efficiently and effectively conducting product and process microbiological testing, ensuring that product quality and systems are of the highest standard.
**The Key Responsibilities**
- Review microbiological analysis on incoming raw material, water treatment plant, equipment sanitation sampling, environmental (air) testing, packaging, syrups and finished beverage products as per the approved testing method and schedule.
- Ensure microbiological safety of products produced by completing testing on time and raising any out of specification result immediately
- Undertake microbiological investigations on out of specification results, create a corrective action plan and implement with the approval of the manager
- Participate in root cause analysis to drive continuous improvement.
- Conduct monthly GMP audits as per schedule and provide feedback to the operations team on areas of improvement with follow up checks completed once actions are closed out
- Review spring water product testing results daily and authorise the release all product within specification
- Organise all external laboratory testing that is require, review results, action as required and file reports
- Monitor incoming spring water, raise issues and manage the close out of actions with key stakeholders
- Ensure all results are record on a daily basis, filed in designated location and archive as required
- Collate and send out weekly report with details on out of specifications and actions taken to all key stakeholders
- Conduct trend analysis, identify trends and develop action plan to address the finding.
- Refresher training for QA staff on micro lab testing
- Complete all annual refresher training
- Participate in monthly safety observation walk, report findings in Beacon and take corrective action on safety issues
- Micro laboratory equipment is calibrated and documented as per defined schedule
- Equipment is maintained in working order and organize external verification as per defined schedule
**About You**
- Degree qualifications in Microbiology, Food Science or related field
- Experience in a similar FMCG industry role (working with water/wine/juice preferably but not essential)
- Hands on style, roll up your sleeves, happy to get your hands dirty
- Excellent relationship building skills is essential
