About the Role
The purpose of this role is to ensure that the BOC laboratory has the capability to meet customer requirements with respect to the analysis of raw materials, calibration gas mixtures and other gas samples. Based at our Wetherill Park Operations Centre in NSW and reporting to the Laboratory Manager, you will be responsible for providing technical support and advice to the lab as well as conducting routine and non-routine analyses using existing methods and predetermined parameters.
Other responsibilities will include:
* You will ensure the laboratory operations comply with the operating procedures and the requirements of the NATA accreditation
* Develop and validate robust, repeatable, and feasible methods for preparation, production and analysis. Provide technical support to the Laboratory and any other stakeholders, as required
* You shall underpin the technical competence and credibility of SG Products and the analytical services provided. Deputize for the Lab Manager when required and manage the Laboratory equipment and consumables
* Your responsibilities also include conducting routine analyses using approved methods and predetermined parameters.
* Document and periodically review laboratory operating procedures and analytical methods in IMSS
* Conduct non-routine analyses using modified approaches to existing methods and technology within the framework accepted practice and NATA accreditation
What we like about you:
* Tertiary qualification in Science / Chemistry with at least 2-3 years experience in gas analysis (GC, FTIR, process analyzers)
* Experience in production environments preferred
* You possess demonstrated skills to troubleshoot analytical assay issues and instrumentation
* You have computer skills with MS office, SAP with proficiency in writing documents and in preparation and implementation of training materials
* Understanding of statistical figures and uncertainty calculation and familiarity with NATA requirements
* Other required competencies include: attention to detail, workload prioritization, multitasking (multiple instruments), safety management and ability to work in a team environment
