About the role

The Road Construction program offers a working environment that is hard to match. Exposed to a variety of work, your engineering skills and knowledge will be an asset to manage projects delivered by Council's outdoor workforce and contractors. This role encompasses delivering capital works for local road upgrades and coordinating minor civil works projects, providing an unparalleled working environment for the ideal candidate.

This position will be responsible for:

* Preparing contract management documents, provide specialist technical advice to ensure that works are completed in accordance with the project's quality standard and specifications.
* The quality management on Council's projects, preparing work programmes, developing estimates, forecasting and planning for your section of works
* Work directly with field staff to ensure the project is delivered in accordance with project scope, specifications, budgets, and timeframes and in line with Council's Health and Safety Policy.
* Taking ownership and being accountable for your area of works

Skills & Qualifications

* 'C' class drivers' licence
* Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (with eligibility to be registered as a Professional Engineer under the Queensland Professional Engineers Act in Civil Engineer).
* Strong experience working on construction projects as a Site/Project Engineer with Contractor or DTMR/Local Government.
* Experience with contractor management and contract administration.
* Experienced in working with/ supervising day labour to deliver complex road projects.
* Possession of 30215 QLD – General Safety Induction Card (White Card)
* Ability to provide satisfactory results for all employment-related background checks inclusive of (Police, Employment References, Qualifications and Working rights & Functional Assessment)
