Job Title: Information Systems Security Officer
This exciting opportunity presents a chance to work on various security projects, ensuring the protection of sensitive information systems. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in managing operational information systems security implementation policy, procedures, and guidelines.
About the Role:
* Support the development and management of operational information systems security implementation policy, procedures, and guidelines.
* Prepare, review, and update authorization packages for security clearance.
* Ensure approved procedures are in place for clearing, sanitizing, and destroying hardware and media.
* Coordinate changes or modifications to hardware, software, or firmware with the ISSM and AO/DAO prior to implementation.
* Monitor system recovery processes to ensure security features and procedures are properly restored and functioning correctly.
* Ensure all IS security-related documentation is current and accessible to properly authorized individuals.
* Collect, review, and document audit records, including any anomalies.
* Attend required technical and security training relative to assigned duties.
* Execute the cyber security portion of the self-inspection, providing security coordination and review of system assessment plans.
* Identify and assist in implementing countermeasures for cyber security vulnerabilities.
* Prepare reports on the status of security safeguards applied to computer systems.
* Ensure compliance with site environmental health and safety requirements.
* Perform other reasonable duties as requested by the supervisor or PMO/EHS Manager.
Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., computer science, cybersecurity).
* CISSP, Security +, or equivalent certification.
* MCSA or equivalent certification.
* Minimum 2 years' experience in an ISSO role with IA certifications.
* Experience in Intelligence Community Directive 503 (ICD 503) and Risk Management Framework (RMF).
* Meets DoD 8570.1 Certification Requirements as an Information Assurance Technical Category II (IAT II) minimum.
* Linux experience preferred.
* Prior experience in roles such as System, Network Administrator, or ISSO.
* Knowledge of databases, spreadsheets, and technical report writing.
* Excellent communication skills and ability to brief at all levels, including Senior Leadership.
