Yard Person / HC Truck Driver
About the Job
North West Mining and Civil are seeking an experienced Yard Person, reporting to the Yard Supervisor to join our team on an ongoing casual 5:2 roster. This position will predominantly be maintaining general yard maintenance at our Karratha yard. You will be responsible for managing all the in/out movements within the yard, freight receivables, stocktaking, site deliveries, loading and unloading deliveries, plant and equipment floating between the yard and work sites.

Duties to include but not limited to:
* Management of all in/out movements within the yard
* Fleet management of all vehicles on site
* Ensure safe loading and unloading of deliveries with use of forklift as required.
* Keep stores clean and tidy.
* Adhere to all site-specific road rules and specifications required.
* Ensure appropriate record keeping is adhered to for receiving and dispatching goods to third party companies
* Engage in effective communication at all levels regarding scheduling of workload balance, safety, performance management, and provide continual support.
* Organisation and preservation of all stock, vehicles and plant & machinery within yard as well as material handling & storage
* Completion of prestart and monitoring and coordination of maintenance of all vehicles, plant & machinery
* Ensure all plant, machinery & materials are secure for safe transportation
* Float plant & equipment between yard & work sites when required
* Stock control and stock take management
What type of Person will be successful
* Must have recent experience in a similar field
* Minimum Heavy Combination (HC) driver's license is essential
* Current Forklift Ticket
* Good MS Office computer skills (Excel/Outlook/Word) for ordering of parts & stock management
* Computer literate for maintenance of new fleet management system
* Highly organised and able to maintain an effective storage system of all stock, plant & equipment within the yard at all times
* Knowledge of truck & equipment safety, maintenance & storage
* Ability to safely secure loads, understanding of general workplace safety requirements & procedure
* Good communication skills, both verbal and written
* Ability to operate required equipment in a safe & responsible manner
