We are seeking an experienced Learning Support Officer to join our College Learning Inclusion team on a part-time, ongoing basis (0.77 FTE).
This position supports the College’s Learning Inclusion programs by assisting teachers and students to ensure all learners can participate fully in the classroom.
The Learning Support Officer works closely with classroom teachers and the Campus Inclusion Support Leader to assist students academically, socially and organisationally within a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
The days and hours of work are Monday to Friday, 9:10 am to 3:30 pm (29.15 hours per week).
Key responsibilities include:
* Providing 1:1 and small group support to students with additional learning needs
* Assisting students in the classroom to engage with curriculum and learning activities
* Supporting students with organisational skills, classroom participation and wellbeing
* Working collaboratively with teachers to implement differentiated learning strategies
* Assisting with the preparation and organisation of learning resources and teaching materials
* Supporting students participating in specialised programs such as literacy development and individual student programs
* Maintaining appropriate records and assisting with Learning Inclusion administrative tasks
* Attending relevant meetings and working collaboratively with staff within the Learning Inclusion team
* Supporting the inclusion and wellbeing of students across classroom and school environments
The successful candidate will have the following experience, skills and attributes:
* Certificate III in Education Support (or working towards)
* Experience supporting students with additional learning needs
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team as well as independently
* Strong organisational and time management skills
* Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff and families
* Understanding of and commitment to Child Safety requirements
* Commitment to the values and mission of Catholic education
