Position Summary
We have an exciting opportunity for an Electrical Automation (E&A) Engineer to join our team at the Gympie factory where we make our iconic coffee brands NESCAFÉ and INTERNATIONAL ROAST. In this role, you will provide leadership, technical expertise, and ownership of Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), Electrical and Automation (E&A) systems within the factory, ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient operation of all E&A assets. This role is accountable for ensuring that all MES–E&A systems contribute to business performance while never compromising safety, quality, or environmental compliance.
Responsibilities
* Participate in Capital Investment projects, ensuring technical solutions are delivered within the expected quality standard, timeline, and budget.
* Prepare user and technical specifications, coordinating the requirements of main users (production, quality, etc.), following solution development, pre-test, implementation, and training of operators and maintenance crews.
* Fully understand technical details of MES–E&A solutions in all projects.
* Ensure Process & Equipment safety for people, products and environment, exhibiting absolute intolerance for unsafe situations.
* Ensure Change Management is in place to appropriately manage modifications in MES–E&A solutions.
* Apply market and local MES–E&A related legislation (e.g., electrical, calibration, etc.) and comply with Nestlé internal engineering functional compliance audit (EFCA), including equipment calibration, hazardous area compliance, electrical compliance.
* Have deep insight of processes and continuously strive for improvement of quality, safety or efficiency while protecting technological know‐how and competitive advantage.
* Participate in the implementation of engineering tools at site level (e.g., NSAT, NEST, AMM, etc.).
* Ensure all MES–E&A installations comply with market and corporate safety, health, environment, product safety and product quality standards.
* Ensure key MES–E&A documentation is up to date (SLD, URS, FDS, Calibration procedures, etc.) and participate in M&I activities in the factory.
Qualifications
* Strong team player with drive to deliver quality outcomes efficiently, and passion for continuous process improvement.
* Minimum Bachelor of Engineering in a relevant field (Electrical, Automation, or Mechatronics).
* 4+ years in a similar, complex electrical and automation leadership role, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
* Experience participating in the development of engineering projects as part of a multidisciplinary team.
* Strong leadership and people management skills; experience leading technical teams and contractors preferred.
* Experience in the start‐up of technical equipment and/or production lines.
* Self‐management following defined KPIs/Objectives, proactively tracking them.
* Exposure to TPM, preventive maintenance planning and/or maintenance execution desired but not required.
