* Salary: $118,530 plus 17% superannuation (pro‐rated)

About the position

La Trobe University's Department of Archaeology & History seeks to appoint an excellent candidate, with expertise in Palaeolithic Archaeology, to a fixed‐term Level B Lecturer position. This position has arisen due to a short‐term need to coordinate and teach specific subjects in the Archaeology Program in semester two 2026.

The successful candidate will have demonstrated ability to coordinate and teach the following Semester 2 subjects: ARC2PAA (Palaeolithic Archaeology) & ARC5REM (Archaeological Research Methods).

A Level B teaching‐focused academic is expected to develop curriculum, coordinate subjects, teach, and undertake other scholarly and administrative work as relevant to the needs of the Archaeology program.

Skills and Experience

* PhD degree as appropriate for Archaeology.
* Evidence of capacity to teach ARC2PAA and ARC5REM.
* Demonstrated effectiveness in teaching, curriculum development and subject coordination in face‐to‐face, blended and/or online modes, as evidenced by sustained high results on student feedback on teaching surveys, teaching excellence awards or other forms of evidence.
* Sound analytical skills with an ability to communicate complex information clearly both orally and in writing.

Required Qualifications

* Full Working Rights in Australia.
* Valid Victorian Employee Working with Children Check prior to commencement.
