What's the role? We are seeking a strategic Head of Delivery to provide leadership and direction to our team of technically proficient Delivery Managers. While your 4 direct reports drive the execution of complex technology initiatives, you will oversee the broader delivery function, bridging the gap between technical execution and business strategy. This position holds the keys to project estimation, CAPEX allocation, and the quarterly continuous improvement roadmap. You will empower your team to navigate the "intricacies of technology platforms" while you manage the people and operational governance that surrounds them. Responsibilities You will orchestrate the delivery function with a strategic quarterly focus, ensuring that the technology initiatives managed by your team deliver value within agreed timelines. Your responsibilities will include: Strategic Leadership & Team Management Provide leadership and strategic direction to the Delivery Manager team, mentoring them as they lead end-to-end delivery of technology initiatives. Facilitate collaboration between Project Managers and Delivery Managers to assign work to sprints for CAPEX projects, ensuring project objectives align with the "technical delivery schedules" your team creates. Foster a culture where Delivery Managers can effectively navigate technical challenges whilst maintaining delivery momentum. Governance Oversight & Estimation Organise and oversee project estimates across the delivery function, leveraging the Delivery Managers in your team to validate resource requirements and technical Feasibility. Drive Governance Standards by ensuring Risks, Issues, Assumptions, and Decisions (RAID) are clearly captured, communicated, and managed at a program level. Roadmap & Continuous Improvement Own and maintain the delivery roadmap for continuous improvement initiatives, scaling the "technical retrospectives" led by your team into function-wide process upgrades Oversee the "Technical Tools & Process Management" strategy, ensuring that "Jira workflows" and dashboards are standardised to support high-level reporting. Strategically prioritise the management of "technical debt" within the wider delivery roadmap to ensure long-term platform health. Who are you? You are a senior leader who can manage technically savvy managers, capable of translating their deep technical insights into executive strategy. Strategic Leader: Experienced in managing high-performing delivery teams, overseeing release management and effectively handling incident resolution Planning & Estimation Expert: You bring robust experience in managing project estimations and orchestrating a quarterly roadmap across all teams, including the management of cross-team dependencies. Technical Fluency: While you may not be hands-on, you "speak both business and technology fluently" and understand technologies sufficiently to validate the estimates provided by your team. Data-Driven:You can interpret technical dashboards showing platform health and quality metrics to make informed strategic decisions. Process Architect:You have a deep understanding of the "software development lifecycle, Agile methodologies, DevOps practices, and CI/CD pipelines to drive function-wide efficiency.
