Primary School Teacher Opportunity
We are a vibrant and rapidly changing inner city neighbourhood school serving our community for over 140 years.
Our values of respect, responsibility, resilience, creativity, and learn are at the heart of everything we do. We believe that a diversity of cultures and values brings richness to the school, developing tolerance and understanding, and exposing students to other ways of thinking.
At Kensington Primary, we focus on students mastering key skills through a developmental sequence from the Victorian Curriculum. Teaching teams collaborate to examine data, student work samples, and plan for a differentiated curriculum supporting students at their point of need.
A seven-year, sequential program addressing outcomes of the Victorian Curriculum is provided. Literacy and Numeracy form the core of the classroom programs while disciplines such as Science, Humanities, Technology, Physical Education, and Health, The Arts, and Language other than English are taught through integrated inquiry-based units of work planned by each teaching team.
As a Positive Behaviour school, we implement Respectful Relationships and take a proactive approach to teaching students about being responsible online citizens and users of technology.
Our learning environment is designed to promote engagement, motivation, and enjoyment of learning. With access to computer networks and educational technology, students use laptops and iPads as tools to enhance their learning experience.
