My client has been around for over 40 years. A very profitable organisation with genuinely good people at the top. A client of mine I have known for a long time, the Operations Manager, and also a genuinely good person, is looking for an experienced civil Project engineer / Project Manager-specific requirements, so please read below.
The organisation specialises in drainage, earthworks, FRP, pipelines, water-related projects. With a secure project pipeline for the next 3 years, already working across some of Victoria's largest projects in the N/E of Melbourne, they want a hungry, experienced civil project engineer who can eventually become a PM and play an integral part of the companies' development.
Your new role
You will initially operate as a PE/SPE, with a view to becoming PM, running projects and eventually play a bigger part in the operations of the business. You will play a key role that will shape the long term growth and development of the business. Being a subcontractor, you will be responsible for leading the successful delivery of multiple civil infrastructure and drainage type projects across Melbourne and regional Victoria. This role oversees commercial management, cost control, program coordination, safety compliance, quality assurance.
Working closely with clients, subcontractors, and the internal delivery team, you will ensure that projects are delivered safely on time within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
What you'll need to succeed
Reporting into my client, the Operations Manager, first and foremost; personality, communication, attitude and enthusiasm is key.My client has requested you MUST have;
- Around 5-10 years' civil experience- Victorian project experience essential- Major Highways, Major roads, Level Crossings etc
- Tier 1, 2 or 3 experience, but understand how to act as a subcontractor (would need to be a hands-on Tier 1 PE)
- Understands the Tier 1 project civil infrastructure environment- similar roads projects
- Capable of setting the job up from the start, with a solid foundation in commercial management preferred
- Capable of being the primary contact and client facing representative whilst managing the scope of works, resource coordination, financial reporting and cost tracking,
- Seeking Drainage, earthworks, FRP, pipelines, water related type experience,
- Capable delivering multiple concurrent projects typically valued around $1-3m per package
- Able to be based in SE of Melbourne 1 or 2 days/ week

- 1-2 days in office- SE Melbourne
- 1-2 days onsite for client coordination meetings-projects are currently East
- 1-2 days WFH or office based
Salary from $150k= $200k+super+ vehicle
