The Role
We are looking for an Injury Coder to join our team. The role will be responsible for coding personal injury claims for the QLD, ACT, and SA CTP teams. You will be part of a supportive and collaborative team that offers a flexible working environment.
The role is primarily based in Brisbane; however, consideration will be given to candidates residing in other states.
This is a permanent, part-time role working 22.5 hours per week.
What You'll Do
* Support the CTP claim process by reviewing, analyzing, interpreting, and accurately classifying injuries using the Abbreviated Injury Scale (AIS) 2008 ed. system in accordance with legislative requirements.
* Conduct audits of claims to check coding accuracy.
* Provide regular reports on coding data accuracy.
* Perform administrative tasks that support professional coding and conduct.
* Support and develop a collaborative work environment to achieve team and division goals.
* Develop and maintain strong working relationships with Claims staff and across the division.
* Participate in strategic planning processes and complete identified projects/tasks.
* Perform any other work delegated by the Leader.
Skills & Experience
* Bachelor of Health Science (Majoring in Health Information Management) or allied health qualification is mandatory.
* AIS 08 and/or AIS 15 qualification (preferred).
* Excellent analytical skills, including the ability to develop solutions and courses of action by identifying key issues and determining cause-effect relationships.
* Exceptional attention to detail.
* Superior written and verbal communication skills.
* Strong time management skills and the ability to prioritize.
* Ability to be flexible, learn quickly, and adapt easily within a dynamic work environment.
* Proficient keyboard skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
* Experience in a medical coding role or with a Personal Injury Insurer is highly desirable.
