Overview
Chef Wong, one of Melbourne's most highly regarded Cantonese restaurants, is seeking a skilled and motivated chef to support Point Cook restaurant. Known for our Casual Yum Cha and Exceptional Dim Sum, this is an excellent chance to experience building a kitchen team from scratch and a great opportunity for ambitious leaders ready to step up.
The Role
You will work closely with the Executive Chef to ensure the smooth and productive running of the kitchen. You'll take a hands-on role in daily operations.
Key Responsibilities
* Support the Kitchen lead in overseeing kitchen operations
* Guide, train, and mentor junior kitchen staff
* Follow standard recipe and procedures
* Maintain consistency, speed, and quality in a fast-paced kitchen
* Ensure food safety and hygiene are upheld
Requirements
* Minimum 2 years' experience in commercial kitchen
* Cantonese/Yum cha experience or knowledge is beneficial
* Demonstrated leadership experience, or readiness to step into a senior role
* Ability to multitask and perform under pressure in a busy environment
* Flexibility to work weekends and peak service periods
* Comfortable working in multilingual environments

* Salary: $67,000 – $75,000 per year (depending on experience)
