As a Media Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in managing video and image assets.
You will exercise editorial judgment to identify and archive important content each day, ensuring that high-quality content is retained for future use.
Key responsibilities include:
* Exercise editorial judgment to identify and archive important content each day
* Liaise with other departments to gather appropriate metadata/tags and ensure it is added to clips
* Use sQ Cut (Quantel) to create rough cuts and compiles for archive and manage server space
* Use Adobe Photoshop to prepare photographs for use on-air
* Keep on-air image assets up to date
* Assist the Editing and News Exchange Managers to retrospectively add metadata to content already saved in the archive
* Communicate effectively with our Editing and News Exchange teams to ensure there is no double handling
* Provide expert advice on how to best manage content, including disposal
Required Skills and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will require:
* Experience in media asset management/digital video content archiving
* University or TAFE qualifications in journalism, communications, graphics, media or broadcasting preferred
* Demonstrated interest in Australian news, politics and national affairs
* Sound editorial judgment/the ability to identify content that might be useful in future
* Ability to work quickly and concisely and manage changing deadlines
* Excellent attention to detail
* Ability to communicate calmly and effectively in a high-pressure environment
* Knowledge of Adobe Photoshop
