* Provide culturally appropriate mentoring, supervision and early intervention support to Aboriginal Cultural Capability facilitators and educators delivering Respecting the Difference and related programs across NSW Health
* Support the psychological, cultural and emotional wellbeing of facilitators, particularly Aboriginal staff experiencing colonial load, trauma exposure and emotionally demanding training environments
* Facilitate real‐time debriefing, reflective practice and peer support, enabling safe, sustainable and high‐quality education delivery

This role focuses on supporting facilitators and educators rather than delivering training programs.

About the Opportunity

The Aboriginal Cultural Safety Coach plays a vital role in supporting the wellbeing, cultural safety and sustainability of the Aboriginal Cultural Capability facilitator workforce across NSW Health. Based within the Centre of Expertise at the Health Education and Training Institute (HETI), this role provides culturally appropriate mentoring, supervision, early intervention and debriefing support to facilitators and educators delivering Respecting the Difference and other Aboriginal cultural safety programs. The focus is on ensuring facilitators, particularly Aboriginal staff, are supported to do this important and often emotionally demanding work safely and effectively.

Working closely with the Senior Education Manager, Aboriginal Cultural Capability, and other Delivery Hub staff, the Aboriginal Cultural Safety Coach helps identify emerging wellbeing needs, supports reflective practice, and contributes to the development and continuous improvement of culturally safe supervision and wellbeing frameworks within the Centre of Expertise.

This role centres on care, guidance and cultural insight, helping to create the conditions for consistent, high‐quality and culturally safe education across the NSW Health system.

HETI is committed to creating a diverse and inclusive environment which reflects the community we serve.

We encourage candidates from all backgrounds, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, LGBTIQA+, neurodiverse individuals, and people with disabilities to apply! The Health Education and Training Institute (HETI) is a leading provider of high-quality training and education to support more than 140,000 clinical and non‐clinical staff, trainers, managers and leaders across the NSW health system.

HETI offers competitive remuneration (base salary plus super and leave loading), a monthly ADO (for full-time staff), a range of flexible working options including hybrid working (all staff are required to attend the office weekly), as well as comprehensive leave entitlements and discounted access to fitness facilities. Professional development is well embedded in our organisation and staff are encouraged to continue their studies and take opportunities for furthering their careers.
