About the role
At TasNetworks, we're powering a bright future for Tasmania — and we're looking for a capable and strategic EPMO Leader to guide our non-network portfolio and shape how our business delivers on what matters most.
This is a unique opportunity to work across digital, innovation, strategic projects, and corporate business services, ensuring we deliver the right work at the right time to meet customer, shareholder and strategic expectations.
You will lead a small, diverse team of specialists and analysts that help the portfolio leaders around the business to plan, deliver and monitor a ~$100m of program of work.
As the EPMO Leader, you'll :
Oversee and continuously improve TasNetworks' non-network project portfolio
Manage enterprise portfolio services, including the enterprise value and prioritisation framework
Work with key portfolio leaders to build and maintain a prioritised rolling 5-year program plan for the non-network portfolio
Align budgets, regulatory allowance, and capacity planning to the program of work to achieve long-term business objectives
Monitor portfolio health and address risks, gaps and improvement opportunities
Provide insights and advice to senior leaders on planning and prioritisation and support investment decisions with clear, data-driven advice aligned to strategy
Drive collaboration across the business for aligned delivery.
About you
We're looking for a strategic thinker and collaborative leader who can bring structure, transparency and alignment to a dynamic and diverse portfolio.
To thrive in this role, you'll have :
A proven ability to influence and build effective relationships with senior stakeholders
Strong understanding of program and project lifecycle management and enterprise governance
Experience leading through others, rather than owning individual projects directly
Confidence to challenge constructively and work cross-functionally to solve problems
Ability to communicate effectively with diverse technical and non-technical audiences
A collaborative approach to leadership with the ability to uplift capability across your team and the business
Highly regarded experience and qualifications
A proven people leader with a focus on achieving great outcomes in partnership with your team and stakeholders
Over 10 years' experience with at least 5 years in portfolio management, investment planning or similar areas
Tertiary qualifications, ideally in digital, commercial or business disciplines (or equivalent experience)
Formal project or program management certifications
Experience working in the energy sector and / or a regulated business environment
What's on offer
This is a Permanent full time opportunity, offering an attractive remuneration and benefits package.
At TasNetworks we want to power a bright future for our people, our community and our customers.
We offer a supportive work environment where safety is at the heart of everything we do.
As an "employer of choice" we offer excellent employee benefits including :
Great professional development opportunities
Flexible work arrangements
Electricity discount of 16.66% (following probationary period)
Paid volunteer days (we strive to give back to the community)
Free onsite parking (It all adds up)
Onsite gyms (plus an annual health and wellbeing rebate)
Personalised career pathways and development opportunities
All the equipment you'll need to be successful in your role
