**About the role
The Esk Health Service operates a seven day Emergency and inpatient service 24 hours a day and has outpatient visiting services Monday-Friday. Esk Health Service is a 15 bed facility with 4 emergency department beds. Esk Health service provides health care to an area of approximately 4000km2 within the Somerset Region. The organisation provides a range of services including Emergency, Medical, Post-Operative, Interim Care, Transitional Care, Palliative Care, Physiotherapy and Rural Adult Community Health.
The registered nurse supports excellence in nursing care and patient outcomes, is a competent clinician who provides nursing care with clinical competence and capability, optimising access to care services. The registered nurse works in partnership with the multidisciplinary team to provide person and family centred, quality, safe patient care.
The Registered Nurse (RURAL) provides contemporary, evidence-based nursing services and demonstrates competence in the provision of nursing care as specified by achievement of the standards of practice and registration requirements from the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA). This is evidenced by educational preparation, continuing professional development, adhering to relevant legislation and the context of care.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can demonstrate the following:
Contemporary clinical knowledge in the area of RURAL nursing, delivering competent nursing care in complex situations while providing support to other team members.
Ability to provide patient and family centred care to the patient using best practice and within the standard of practice of a Registered Nurse.
Ability to provide patient and family centred care to the patient using best practice and within the standard of practice of a Registered Nurse.
Ability to build and maintain strong relationships, open communication and a positive environment within a multidisciplinary team, actively contributing to the learning and development of others to a high standard.
Ability to communicate to a high standard effectively and engage with members of the healthcare team, patients, relatives and visitors whilst displaying a high level of professional nursing care.
A commitment to ongoing professional development and contribution to quality improvement processes.
