Exciting roles emerging in the Australian regional water industry

Beca HunterH2O, one of the leading consultants in the Australian water industry, is seeking talented project management and engineering professionals to join its expanding team to lead the delivery of a growing pipeline of work throughout regional Australia.

We are a formidable team of 300+ water specialists, passionate about healthy and sustainable communities wherever we work. Using our deep knowledge and broader capability, we collaborate with our clients through city and regional offices operating in Sydney, Melbourne, Newcastle, Tamworth, Brisbane, Adelaide and Fiji.

Career opportunities are arising at junior, intermediate and senior levels across regional NSW, the NT and the ACT, including within Newcastle / Central Coast, Tamworth / Armidale and North Coast regions of NSW, Canberra / Queanbeyan and Darwin.

These are opportunities to work alongside our experienced and passionate colleagues and clients to envisage, plan, design, innovate, create and project manage programs of water & wastewater infrastructure to positively impact the public health of our regional communities and the sustainability of our environment.

About the roles we're recruiting for and the skills we're seeking

We are particularly seeking project managers, program managers, project controllers and design managers who have a background or interest in the water industry. These roles require excellent communication and coordination skills to collaborate with our clients and their stakeholders, lead talented multi‐disciplinary engineers during project planning and development phases and assist our clients in managing construction.

Working within delivery frameworks underpinned by the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK), these roles will also require knowledge and skills in scope, time, cost, quality, procurement, risk and resource management. You will be surrounded and supported by industry experts to develop and integrate these skills, and many of our staff express how rewarding it is to see the projects that they have stewarded be constructed and operating.

Qualifications

You Will Be Qualified with a Bachelor's Degree In Engineering, Construction Management, Commerce, or a related professional field, and ideally have or wish to pursue chartership with Engineers Australia or a similar professional organization.

Other desirable and relevant knowledge areas include:

* Contract management, commercial acumen
* Strategic planning and business case development
* Partnership management, portfolio management
* Operations experience
* Business development
* A demonstrated technical knowledge of design and engineering principles within the water industry

Prior experience working for or with water utilities or in the context of local government is also highly regarded.

As our pipeline is spread across NSW and the ACT, there can be some flexibility in work location. Some of our staff work remotely and attend anchor days throughout the year for interpersonal interaction. Where we have partnerships with our clients, we also encourage co‐location in their offices.
