Position Type : Full-Time

Salary: $74,000 to $78,000 plus superannuation per annum

Location: Werribee VIC 3030

Our client Ashnoor Pty Ltd, trading as Foodbiz Wholesale Distributors is seeking an experienced Butcher to join their team located in Werribee, Victoria.

As a Butcher you will be an integral part of their butchery department. You will be responsible for cutting, trimming, and preparing various meats to meet precise specifications and high standards of quality and hygiene. Your role will also involve developing new meat products, maintaining excellent customer service, and ensuring operational efficiency.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Precision Meat Cutting and Preparation:

1. Skillfully cut, trim, and prepare meats including beef, pork, lamb, and poultry.
2. Ensure each piece meets precise specifications for weight, thickness, and quality.
3. Use a variety of tools and techniques to achieve desired cuts and presentations.

Quality Control and Hygiene Standards:

1. Enforce strict hygiene and quality control standards in the handling, storage, and presentation of meat products.
2. Ensure compliance with health regulations to maintain a safe and clean work environment.
3. Conduct regular checks to guarantee the highest quality of meat products.

Innovative Product Development:

1. Collaborate with the culinary team to develop and introduce new meat products and cuts.
2. Implement innovative offerings that distinguish our butchery in the competitive market.

Customer Service Excellence:

1. Provide expert advice and assistance to customers on meat selection and preparation techniques.
2. Enhance the shopping experience by fostering customer loyalty and repeat business through exceptional service.

Team Leadership and Training:

1. Mentor and train new butchers and staff, sharing knowledge and fostering a culture of teamwork, safety, and continuous improvement.
2. Lead by example to maintain high standards of performance and professionalism within the team.

Operational Efficiency:

1. Identify and implement ways to improve operational processes within the butchery department.
2. Contribute to inventory management and waste reduction to enhance sustainability and profitability.

Requirements:

1. Certificate III in Meat Processing (Retail Butcher)
2. Minimum of 12 months experience as a Butcher
3. Proven experience as a Butcher, with a deep understanding of meat cutting, trimming, and preparation techniques.
4. Strong knowledge of hygiene and quality control standards.
5. Ability to collaborate and innovate in product development.
6. Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to provide expert advice and build customer relationships.
7. Demonstrated leadership skills and experience in mentoring and training staff.
8. Commitment to operational efficiency and process improvement.
