Join Meli's Safe at Home program and be part of a compassionate, collaborative, whole-of-family response that places children's safety, voice and recovery at the centre of practice. Working alongside dedicated professionals, you will play a critical role in ensuring children's experiences are heard, understood and reflected in every aspect of intervention and support.

As a Family Violence Children's Worker, you will:
* Deliver child-centred, trauma-informed assessment, safety planning and therapeutic support to children and young people impacted by family violence
* Contribute specialist children's expertise to integrated risk assessment, case management and whole-of-family interventions alongside Safe at Home practitioners
* Develop and implement developmentally appropriate therapeutic care plans that prioritise children's safety, wellbeing and recovery
* Work collaboratively with families and multidisciplinary partners to strengthen parenting capacity, amplify children's voices, and support safe, sustainable outcomes
Position Details
* Part time, Fixed term position until 30 June 2027
* 0.6 FTE working 22.8 hours per week
* $110,379 p/a (pro‐rata) + Super + Salary Packaging
What We're Looking For

We value individuals who bring dedication, empathy, and expertise to their roles. To succeed in this position, you will have:

* A tertiary qualification in social work, psychology, counselling, family therapy, child and youth studies, or a related human services or behavioural science discipline, and meeting the minimum mandatory qualifications for Specialist Family Violence Practitioners as defined by Safe and Equal Victoria (and relevant funding bodies).
* Demonstrated experience providing therapeutic counselling or casework to children and young people impacted by family violence, including play‐based, creative and/or child inclusive practice, and working collaboratively with parents/carers to strengthen child safety and wellbeing.
* Strong knowledge of child development, complex trauma and the impacts of family violence on children, with well‐developed skills in professional judgement, ethical and reflective practice, documentation, and working within legislative, policy and information‐sharing frameworks.
