About the Role
This senior leadership position oversees the strategic management of commercial and international arrangements within the Air Force, ensuring seamless delivery of fast jet capabilities.
Reporting directly to the Officer Commanding, the Director Business Management Unit is responsible for providing informed guidance and expert advice on complex governance standards and compliance with relevant Commonwealth legislation and policy.
* Maintaining high-level governance standards in accordance with Commonwealth legislation and policy
* Ensuring compliance with regulations associated with international Foreign Military Sales arrangements
* Providing expert advice to internal and external stakeholders
* Implementing strategies for business performance and growth
* Influencing strategic direction and contributing to high-level decision making
Leadership Responsibilities
As a senior APS member, you will provide mentorship, guidance, and support to the wider APS workforce, championing Defence Values and Behaviours throughout the unit.

Requirements
* Extensive experience in senior executive roles, delivering outcomes for Air Force and Defence
* Ability to adapt to changing contexts and shifting priorities
* Effective team management and capability outcome delivery
* Strong commercial acumen and experience working with the Defence Industry sector
* Excellent risk management skills and written/oral communication skills
