Performance Manager – Melbourne, VIC, AU

This Hybrid Performance Manager leads a performance team integrating into client campaigns, ensuring full potential. You will manage digital marketing campaigns across paid media (Social & SEM), maintain exceptional client relations, and drive continuous learning.
Success in this role is defined by collaboration, team management, deep expertise in performance marketing, excellent communication, commitment to operational excellence, and continuous focus on industry best practices. Strong SEM (SA360) and Social (META, TikTok, LinkedIn, Snap, Pinterest) platform knowledge required.
Key Responsibilities
Performance
* See campaigns through from start to finish: placement, testing, tracking, reporting, pacing, and budget management.
* Serve as an expert on the client's business, industry, competitors, key drivers, and environment, identifying growth opportunities.
* Provide sound reasoning to clients on briefs and suggest alternative approaches.
* Create custom implementation strategies, including optimal weights, placements, and buying parameters.
* Analyze and evaluate media proposals with limited guidance, predicting audiences and costs, tracking and optimizing results.
* Constantly seek ways to improve schedules to achieve communication goals and cost efficiency.
* Assess delivery against plan, manage plan to address shortfalls.
* Provide post‑campaign reports detailing results, KPIs, expenditure, communication goals, and recommendations.
* Support the Director in contract negotiations, evaluating cost, value, and delivery.
Client
* Maximize client retention and growth, managing expectations and communicating status updates.
* Serve as trusted advisor, providing expert insights on industry, competitors, and key drivers.
* Lead and manage client meetings, daily WIPs, and updates with action items.
People
* Manage a team of Performance Executives and Coordinators, building goals, managing 30‑60‑90‑day plans.
* Ensure appropriate leave planning and set expectations internally and with clients.
* Motivate team to exceed client expectations and produce high‑quality work.
* Manage workflow, resource allocation, and provide coaching and feedback.
* Hold career progression meetings and help create development plans.
Commercial
* Own invoicing responsibilities for the team, promptly addressing issues.
* Send invoices to correct client contacts and file copies.
* Implement accurate financial tracking processes: PO numbers, MBA trackers, value trackers.
* Track pre‑bill invoices accurately, resolve billing issues with clients.
Key Skills
* Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Suite.
* Data visualisation and SEM experience.
* Stakeholder management skills.
* Time management, attention to detail.
* Process‑oriented, strong written and verbal communication.
* Commercial/business acumen – billing, invoicing, negotiation.
Salary: $80,000‑$85,000 inclusive of super.
