The role

We are seeking an Assistant Operations Manager to join the management team at Charlestown Square on a 9-month fixed term contract.

Together with the Operations Manager, the Assistant Operations Manager is responsible for ensuring the Centre is safe, secure and meets presentation standards to achieve desired customer and tenant satisfaction levels. The role also assists with maximising operational efficiency and increasing the return on investment, whilst prudently managing risk.

The role actively participates in contractor management, environmental sustainability management, risk management, tenancy delivery and retailer engagement under the guidance of the Operations Manager, centre management and national property operations.

What You Will Be Doing

* Undertaking regular inspections of the asset to determine the extent, and priority of any repair works or other attention required.
* Supporting the Operations Manager with driving the safety culture across the asset, both with GPT employees and our contractors, ensuring compliance with GPT health and safety procedures.
* Maintaining ongoing compliance with statutory authorities and enact sound engineering practices in relation to maintenance of the property structure, facade, fittings, finishes, fit out and services.
* Along with the greater team, support the tenancy delivery process to achieve smooth transition of new retailers into the asset.
* Managing specialist contractors, ensuring their adherence to contract terms, conditions and nominated scope of works, including the Integrated Service Contract working closely with the Integrated Services Manager, on a daily basis.
* Preparing tender and contract documentation, including obtaining pricing for works and services in accordance with company policy, procurement and governance requirements.
* Working with the National Operations and operational peers to maximise the asset's sustainability performance and supporting the team to drive performance of the asset to ensure performance targets are achieved.
* Participate in the Duty Manager shift roster during weekends, peak periods, events or when required.

What Makes You Stand Out

The ideal candidate will bring proven facilities management experience within a large property asset, combined with strong financial acumen in budgeting and forecasting. You will have a solid understanding of Building Codes, Australian Standards, OHS/WHS legislation and statutory requirements.

As a natural communicator, you will excel at building stakeholder relationships and managing projects within time and budget while maintaining a focus on the customer experience.

This would suit a facilities/operations specialist with strong problem-solving abilities who thrives in fast-paced environments and enjoys working in a collaborative team.
