Primary objective
This position is responsible for coordination of quality business support to internal and external clients customer focused on
visit enquiries serviceand associated financial management duties for the Alice Springs Correctional Centre administration
team.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Respond as the first point of contact to incoming phone enquiries relating to general internal/external stakeholders,
other third parties, approved social and professional visitors through the monitoring of the ASCC switchboard and ASCC
visits phone lines.
1. Coordination of professional visitors with internal stakeholders
2. Process incoming and outgoing mail to the Centre in-conjunction with custodial staff.
3. Handle a range of enquiries, face to face, telephone or electronic from internal and external stakeholders in respect of
visit bookings, supplier invoices, purchases, prisoner monies to provide clear, timely, practical information and guidance
in accordance with relevant NT Government Legislation and Departmental Policies whilst maintaining appropriate
confidentiality.
1. Contribute to the business support unit and promote a high level of customer focused service and other duties as
required.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Experience in providing a high level of administrative support including the ability to manage a demanding workload
and meet deadlines.
2. High standard of communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with staff and the general public,
whilst upholding confidentiality.
3. High level of customer focus being self-motivated with the ability to use initiative
4. Demonstrated competence in the use of computer applications, such as spreadsheets, mainframes and databases.
5. Ability to work in a small team and work independently under pressure with minimal supervision.
6. Ability to work in a cross cultural environment and communicate effectively at all levels and an ability to interact with
people from diverse cultures.

1. Current Drivers Licence

NT Correctional Services has a Smoke Free Policy. Staff are not permitted to smoke anywhere on Departmental premises,
