We are seeking a proactive and reliable Maintenance Officer to support the day to day operations of Townsville Shopping Centre. Working closely with the Centre Management team, this role plays a key part in maintaining high standards of presentation, safety and functionality, while supporting positive experiences for retailers, customers and stakeholders.

About the role
* Maintain the day to day operation of the Centre, including buildings, plant, equipment and grounds
* Carry out routine and preventative maintenance and respond promptly to maintenance requests and breakdowns
* Identify issues, troubleshoot and complete repairs safely and efficiently
* Undertake minor maintenance works including painting, basic plumbing, lighting, tiling, gardening and plant room upkeep
* Conduct scheduled inspections and support compliance with legislative and industry standards
* Maintain accurate maintenance, inspection and incident records
* Support workplace health and safety requirements, including emergency response and business continuity planning
* Assist with sustainability initiatives including energy, water and waste management
* Build positive and professional working relationships with tenants, contractors and Centre stakeholders
About you
* Experience in a maintenance, facilities, labouring or similar role, ideally within a retail or commercial environment
* A sound understanding of building services, plant and general maintenance operations, or a willingness to develop these skills
* Strong practical problem solving and troubleshooting capability
* An understanding of workplace health and safety requirements
* Well organised, with strong attention to detail and accurate record keeping skills
* Clear and respectful communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with a diverse range of people
* Comfortable using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook) for basic tracking, reporting and communication
* A dependable team member who can work independently while contributing positively to a collaborative environment
