About the role
An exciting role exists as part of our internalisation of the Maintenance function at Journey Beyond Rail. This role in particular will be focused on our platinum carriage project build. This role will be offered on a permanent basis, with an hourly pay rate of $40.33.
Key requirements of the role include:
- Conduct mechanical tasks, including overhauls, installations, and fitting of mechanical equipment.
- Perform inspections, preventative maintenance, and unscheduled repairs based on trade knowledge and training.
- Undertake troubleshooting and fault finding for routine vehicle issues, which may occasionally involve complex problem-solving within tight scheduling deadlines.
- Identify and rectify faults in rail carriages, encompassing carriage air brakes, bogies, undercarriage, inter-carriage equipment, and the EVAC toilet system.
- Examine and interpret drawings and specifications.
About You
- Relevant Trade Qualification
- While prior work experience in the rail/transport industry is desirable, we also encourage tradespeople with diverse industry experiences to apply for this position.
