Your Opportunity
The Universal Aftercare Service is a non-clinical support service focused on providing rapid, practical psychosocial support to people experiencing a suicidal crisis or who have attempted suicide.
We're looking for a passionate and driven professional to lead this exciting new service designed to reach and support communities who may not typically engage with the health system. This program will deliver intensive, specialised support across the Shoalhaven and Goulburn regions, with a strong focus on engaging men, including Aboriginal men, through culturally safe and responsive services.
You'll have the unique opportunity to build a brand-new team, including Care Coordinators and Peer Workers whose lived experience will be central to the program's success. As the role will work closely with peer workers and care coordinators, experience in leading multidisciplinary teams, particularly those that include a peer workforce, is highly valuable. A strong grounding in trauma-informed, recovery-oriented practice and a commitment to valuing lived experience will be essential to building trust and fostering genuine connection.

Your key responsibilities will be to:
* Lead and provide guidance to the team ensuring effective and responsive service delivery to clients in crisis that prioritise client safety, dignity, and recovery and promote best practices in crisis intervention and suicide prevention.
* Coordinate care pathways and collaborate closely with healthcare providers, emergency services, community organisations, and families to ensure seamless client support
* Monitor and evaluate the program outcomes and data to identify areas for improvement and ensure compliance with relevant policies and funding requirements.
* Respond to and manage escalated client risks in line with organisational protocols and clinical support structures.
* Provide regular supervision, mentoring, and professional support to non-clinical staff delivering universal aftercare services.
* Develop and maintain strong relationships with key external stakeholders including other service providers, government agencies and non-government support best practice in a seamless service system.
* Complete a range of Budget, WHS and compliance administration duties.
* Ensure the service is meeting compliance, funding agreements and create reports including comprehensive program and client data statistics and reports.
Requirements for Success
* Degree in Psychology/ Social Work / or other relevant degree
* Minimum of three years' experience within suicide prevention and recovery
* Demonstrated ability to lead and manage teams in a complex service delivery setting.
* Demonstrated ability to deliver service outcomes on time and in compliance with funding requirements.
* Familiarity with PHN Minimum Data Set (MDS) reporting and using data for program improvement and compliance.
* A working knowledge of the ACI Universal Aftercare model, and familiarity with Roses in the Ocean training would be valuable given the peer-informed nature of the service.
* Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders.
* Previous experience in budget and financial management
* A Current Driver's Licence
