Edinburgh Lyceum and Melting Pot are looking for an Associate Director, for the Edinburgh production of One Day, a major musical adaptation opening at Edinburgh Lyceum w/c 23 February 2026.

Hours: Variable, up to 7 hours per day, 6 days per week
Responsible to: Director, Producers and General Manager
Salary: £800 per week. Travel and accommodation will be provided.
This brand-new adaptation of the beloved story is written by The Lyceum's former Artistic Director, David Greig, with music and lyrics by Abner and Amanda Ramirez (of acclaimed US band Johnnyswim), with additional material by Freya Catrin Smith, and directed by Tony and Olivier award nominee Max Webster. One Day opens in Edinburgh as part of The Royal Lyceum's 60th anniversary season, which is the first programmed by incoming Artistic Director, James Brining.

Purpose of Job
To provide to the Producer all services customarily rendered by an Associate Director of a production of this scale, including but not limited to supporting the Director during rehearsals, leading rehearsals as directed, teaching and maintaining covers and maintaining the Production once open through show watches, note sessions and understudy rehearsals until end of run.
Duties and Responsibilities include:
- The Associate Director will rehearse and maintain the direction of the Production in collaboration with the Director by attending all rehearsals in London and Edinburgh.
- To rehearse covers in line with the production schedule and attend all cover dress rehearsal runs as required by the Producer. Schedule and lead ongoing rehearsals as required.
- Work closely with the Associate Choreographer on rehearsals and show running.
- Contribute to scheduling conversations with the Production Management, Stage Management and General Management team.
- First point of contact with the Company Manager when company members are absent from the production and leading on plans for cover/cut performances.
