About the Organisation
Our client is a long-standing Australian distributor and brand owner operating across consumer and mobile electronics, with a strong presence in the automotive aftermarket. The automotive division represents a mix of globally recognised partner brands and proprietary in-house brands across car audio, 12V in-car technology, dashcams and safety tech, 4WD navigation and mapping, and automotive accessories. Products are sold through major national automotive retailers, specialist chains and independent installers across Australia and New Zealand. The automotive portfolio continues to evolve as consumer expectations, vehicle technology and off-road culture shift.
About the Role
Reporting to the GM Product Development, this is a commercially focused, end-to-end Product Manager role sitting within a broader Product team of 6+. The opportunity now is to sharpen product strategy, strengthen lifecycle discipline and accelerate new product introductions across key brands. You will take ownership of a defined portfolio of automotive brands and categories. Your remit spans the full product lifecycle, from ideation and feasibility through to launch, optimisation and end of life.
Key responsibilities include:
* Working directly with global brand owners and suppliers to identify new products suitable for ANZ
* Conducting competitor, pricing and feasibility analysis
* Curating a commercially viable SKU range for local retail and trade channels
* Building internal business cases and presenting new line proposals
* Developing clear go-to-market strategies in collaboration with Sales and Marketing
* Briefing Product Development for directly sourced products
* Managing launch, optimisation and EOL processes
* Acting as the primary brand liaison with overseas partners
This is not a passive portfolio maintenance role. It requires someone commercially curious, hands-on and comfortable owning outcomes.
About You
You bring at least five years' experience in Product or Category Management, ideally within automotive aftermarket or related consumer electronics. You thrive in a fast-paced, commercially driven environment where not everything is perfectly defined, and you're comfortable navigating ambiguity, influencing without authority and juggling competing priorities. You work confidently with both internal and external stakeholders, from global brand owners to sales teams, and bring clarity, structure and momentum to initiatives that don't always line up neatly.
You have demonstrated experience:
* Launching new products into retail and trade channels
* Working with global brand owners or suppliers
* Building and presenting range proposals
* Managing margin, MOQs and commercial trade-offs
* Analysing sales and sell-through data to inform decisions
* Managing full product lifecycle from launch to EOL
