Project Geologist – Base & Precious Metals
Location: Brisbane (with field campaigns across Queensland & New South Wales)

A well-established Brisbane geoscience and advisory consultancy, renowned for its quality, is looking for an experienced Project Geologist to join our consultancy team. If you thrive on mineral discovery and enjoy leading exploration initiatives, this role offers hands-on involvement from desktop program design through to field program delivery and results interpretation.
What You'll Do
* Field Operations: Lead geological logging, mapping and geochemical sampling to produce high-quality data for 2D/3D interpretations.
* Drill Program Development: Develop high-quality drill targets and campaign plans informed by integrated mineral systems analysis.
* Technical Documentation: Author detailed reports summarising both desktop studies and drill program outcomes.
* Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement ways to enhance field methods, data workflows and safety procedures.
* Project Planning: Collaborate on scoping, budgeting and scheduling to ensure projects stay on track.
* Statuatory knowledge: Produce documentation to assist in the team delivering approvals for onground exploration in
Who You Are
* Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Geology, Earth Sciences or a related field.
* Professional Experience: At least 5 years in base or precious metals exploration, ideally within a consulting environment or on contract.
* Software Proficiency: Skilled in Micromine, MapInfo or QGIS for geological modelling and mapping. MXDeposit experience highly regarded.
* Field-Ready: Comfortable with campaign-style rosters and remote site logistics.
* Analytical Mindset: Strong attention to detail with an ability to interpret datasets.
* Communication: Excellent report-writing and interpersonal skills, with a knack for clear and concise technical presentations. Working knowledge and practical experience in delivering documents for on ground-work program to relevant government departments.
* Safety Focused: Demonstrate proactive health, safety and environmental awareness in all activities.
Desirable Extras
* Prior consulting or contracting experience in the geological services sector
* In-depth knowledge of eastern Australian mineral exploration
* Proven track record in economic geology and target generation
