Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Group Accountant to manage our finance function. With our continued growth and recent establishment of subsidiaries in the USA and UK, this is an exciting opportunity for a hands-on finance professional to take ownership of our financial operations across multiple regions. You will set up the finance function, initially doing much of the work yourself, while documenting and optimizing processes.
The role will suit someone with strong technical expertise, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to design and implement processes in a fast-moving, evolving business environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage all Xero bank reconciliations, accounts payable, and accounting across Australia, USA, and UK entities.
* Oversee accounts payable (AP) processes and ensure timely supplier payments.
* Monitor and reconcile inventory movements in Shopify, posting accurate entries in Xero.
* Manage integrations between Xero and other platforms (e.g., Hiive).
* Process and reconcile intercompany charges across all group companies, including inventory sales and royalty payments.
* Manage foreign currency transactions, supplier payments, and FX accounting.
* Prepare and review monthly payroll in line with statutory obligations.
* Prepare and submit Business Activity Statements (BAS) to the ATO.
* Deliver accurate monthly reporting, analysis, and cash flow forecasting, working closely with the CFO.
* Maintain company financial records in SharePoint (supplier records, tax, compliance, etc.).
* Ensure compliance with taxation and statutory requirements in Australia, USA, and UK, liaising with external accountants.
* Design, document, and continuously improve finance procedures and processes in collaboration with the CFO.
About You
* Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
* CA (Chartered Accountant) or equivalent professional qualification.
* Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar financial management or controller role.
* Advanced skills in Xero and Excel; ERP experience advantageous.
* Strong understanding of intercompany accounting, foreign currency management, and compliance requirements.
* A proactive, hands-on approach with excellent analytical and leadership skills.
* Ability to work effectively in a growing, unstructured environment, building processes from the ground up in collaboration with senior leadership.
