Community engagement coordinator

Melbourne
Port Phillip EcoCentre Inc.
Posted: 31 July
Offer description

The Port Phillip EcoCentre connects and inspires people to care for our land, water, wildlife and wellbeing. Since 1999, our multidisciplinary staff and 4000+ volunteers implement innovative environmental and climate action programs with a network of 292 cross-sectoral partners. We recognise that ecosystems and the climate are in crisis, and believe that connected communities drive positive change.

We are preparing to launch our beautiful new EcoCentre, a 'world-leadership' rated sustainable facility which includes community education and meeting rooms, a community garden and kitchen, and Australia's first citizen science lab. This lively community hub is surrounded by botanic gardens, just two blocks from the beach. Volunteers, families, students, businesses and affiliate groups visit our facilities to join us in citizen science, gardening, cooking, learning, repairing broken goods, skill-building, research and more.

The new EcoCentre marks an exciting new chapter, and we are preparing to activate the spaces with EcoCentre programming as well as events with community groups and delivery partners. The launch will include an 18-month trial and evaluation of weekend open hours.
