We are currently seeking a motivated Provisional Psychologist to join our team at the Medicare Mental Health Centre on the Sunshine Coast, located in Birtinya. The role offers a supportive environment to grow and develop your career.
The Medicare Mental Health Centre is part of a dynamic, multi‐disciplinary model working alongside psychiatrists, psychologists, occupational therapists, social workers, peer workers, and registered nurses. The position provides an opportunity to shape the future of mental health and wellbeing in Queensland.
About The Role
* Engage with participants, providing personalised counselling, therapy, and brief therapeutic interventions.
* Conduct intake assessments and develop tailored counselling plans in collaboration with participants and their families.
* Advocate for participants and coordinate with other clinicians, peer lived‐experience workers and stakeholders to enhance interventions and well‐being.
* Monitor and manage participants' mental health and well‐being, collaborating with health professionals as needed.
* Participate in clinical meetings, case meetings with peer lived‐experience workers, training sessions, and professional development activities to enhance your expertise.
* Work within a multi‐disciplinary team with peer lived‐experience workers and other mental health clinicians.
About You
* Current AHPRA registration in the relevant discipline (provisional registration).
* Demonstrated experience in comprehensive mental health assessments and evidence‐based interventions.
* Skills and experience in trauma‐informed counselling and therapy, including use of multiple clinical modalities.
* Ability to provide mental health triage and participant de‐escalation.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills; computer literacy.
* Ability to build rapport and influence diverse stakeholders.
* Passion for making a difference and ability to thrive in a fast‐paced, solution‐focused environment.
* Effective time management and organisational skills, meeting program delivery KPIs.
* Must hold, or be willing to obtain, a valid Working With Children Check (WWCC) and a current police check.
