About National Trust of Australia (Queensland)
The National Trust of Australia (Queensland) [NTAQ] is a membership-based environmental charity that offers people the opportunity to connect with significant places, collections, and stories. NTAQ manages a diverse portfolio of heritage properties from Currumbin to Cooktown, including the Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary, one of the Gold Coast's most popular tourist destinations. As one of Queensland's earliest nature-based tourist destinations, the Sanctuary embodies NTAQ's mission: to conserve and advance our natural and cultural heritage for future generations.
As NTAQ continues to develop mission-based programs and deliver exceptional guest experiences across its tourism properties, we have an exciting opportunity for a driven and experienced Part-Time Grants Manager. This role is vital in securing and managing funding to support NTAQ's strategic pillars, key projects, and overall mission.
About the Role
The Grants Manager will be responsible for identifying and securing grant funding opportunities aligned with NTAQ's strategic goals. This includes managing a robust grants pipeline, prospecting, tracking, and prioritising potential funding sources to support the organisation's evolving needs and financial sustainability. The successful candidate will have a proactive approach, excellent copywriting skills, and a keen eye for detail to develop compelling grant applications and proposals that meet funder criteria and reflect NTAQ's mission.
You will oversee the entire grant process, including ensuring compliance with grant terms, accurate budgeting, tracking outcomes, managing acquittals, and preparing progress and final reports. Building strong relationships with internal teams and external partners will be essential for identifying new funding opportunities and enhancing NTAQ's impact. Additionally, you will contribute to award submissions that showcase NTAQ's work, highlighting stories, successes, and outcomes that demonstrate our contribution to community, training, and conservation efforts.
About You
To succeed in this role, you will have proven experience in researching, writing, and submitting successful grant applications to government, corporate, or foundation funders. Key skills include:
* Managing budgets, tracking expenses, and ensuring compliance with grant conditions.
* Collecting, analysing, and reporting on project outcomes to demonstrate impact.
* Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for developing engaging proposals and maintaining stakeholder relationships.
* Strategic thinking and storytelling skills to craft compelling narratives aligned with funder and organisational goals.
* Strong organisational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks and deadlines.
* Self-motivation and ability to work independently.
* Experience or understanding of heritage asset management is desirable but not essential.
* Willingness to work outdoors in environments with native wildlife such as birds and reptiles.
